YAAY!!!

 IT'S CHILDREN'S DAY in Nigeria...

Today is meant to be Something Medi-Cally Day but my real love for children will mean I didn't do justice if I didn't celebrate Children's Day as well...

So I will want to kindly crave your indulgence as I dedicate this space to all the children in the world and more especially to "my own babies".

I'd love to introduce you to a few of my little beautiful faces that have brought me undiluted warmth and love ........

Strengthening the Psychology of your child

• Appreciate your child’s "weaknesses and strengths."

Knowing your child and in turn helping him/her to know him/herself well and to manage themselves to best meet their overall goals is one of the most helpful gifts any parent can give a child.

• Learn to listen to your children.

This breeds self confidence as well as allows for expression. Shutting a child down, is one way to kill his/ her spirit.

• Play with your children.

This helps our children connect with us and most importantly builds their trust. When your child is your friend, you are practically his or her "mini" god.

• Don't spare the rod of correction; especially from a young age. Many tend to commence this late, when a child's character is formed.

This helps reinforce discipline and imbibes responsibility in the child. He/She learns to take responsibility for his/her actions.

This can be by spanking with words (words of correction and encouragement), acts of punishment (e.g extra chores, naughty corner, deprivation of game time) or with a "cane" (small sized, can be your palm...but not wires, wood or just any object...that is CHILD ABUSE).


Noteworthy:

This "opportunity" should not be abused by us parents.

The bum (buttocks) is the preferred area for spanking --well cushioned. (yes o!!!)

Be careful with your words, don't kill your child's spirit.

Always explain to your child why he/she is being punished so this is understood and can help prevent a next time occurrence.

• Love your child unconditionally and Breed a positive home environment;this builds love in the child's heart.

And so with these few points of mine, i say,
