HEARD ABOUT A UTI ?

Hey there, how are you doing today? Great, I hope.

So, I decided to come back to my dearly beloved somewhat abandoned page.... it's amazing how life can steal your time with its many requests.

Anyway, it feels good to be back.😊

Did you know that urine, though a by-product (waste) of the human body, is sterile....yep, it is 100% clean.

So, I asked in the blog title..... if you have you heard of a UTI known as, Urinary Tract Infection?

A UTI is an infection anywhere in the urinary tract--- made up by the kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra.

It occurs when bacteria enter the urinary tract through the urethra (pee hole) and begin to multiply in the bladder.

Females are at greater risk of developing a UTI than males.... sadly💕, this is due to the way the female private part is structured and situated, well, close to the anus aka poop-hole.

Children are not exempt..... it is important to educate them as well.

Here are some UTI TELLTALE SIGNS, though there might be no sign or symptom:

A strong and persistent urge to urinate
A burning sensation when urinating
Passing frequent, small amounts of urine
Strong-smelling urine
Urine that appears cloudy
Urine that appears red, bright pink or cola-colored
Pelvic pain (pain around the pubic bone), in women
A high body temperature
General feeling of unwellness

PREVENT A UTI

Taking these steps can help reduce the risk of urinary tract infections:

Drink plenty water: this helps dilute urine and ensures frequent urination — allowing bacteria to be flushed out of the urinary tract before an infection can begin.

Drink cranberry juice: some school of thought encourage this..There sure is no harm in drinking it.

Wipe from front to back, more importantly, if you are female. Doing so after urinating and after a bowel movement helps prevent bacteria in the anal region from spreading to the vagina and urethra.

Pee after sex. It is advised to empty the bladder soon after intercourse...this goes for both sexes. Also, drinking a full glass of water further helps to flush bacteria.

PLEASE AVOID potentially irritating feminine products..... powders, douches, sprays, inserts, oils....... in the genital area is a NO NO. It can irritate the urethra.

You might want to opt for a different type of birth control method.... something more long term. Diaphragms, or unlubricated or spermicide-treated condoms, can all contribute to bacterial growth...when unhygienically handled before use.

Without much ado... the take home for today is that your health is your responsibility... Take charge and stay healthy.

Teach your little ones as well.

Remember never to forget, you are beautiful just the way you are.

Love,
